The project site is located in the South East part of the Bank Conservation Area, at the convergence of Cannon Street, King William Street and Nicholas Lane.

No.18 ‘‘Phoenix House’’ is a non-listed detached 7 storey office building with two underground floors.

It is fair to say that the building’s current look and feel doesn’t meet today’s standards and it would benefit from a fair amount of refurbishment and modernization.

how to make the building attractive for the tenants without unnecessary changes

replace the ‘‘skirt’’ and roundels and make space for the roof terrace. Sustainability is the key

The removed parts will be replaced with contemporary elements - curved glazing with decorative metal frames and concrete surrounding for new double height windows. The street frontage will receive a more fitting look, giving a sense of importance and presence to the building, thus cementing its place in the context of the Bank Conservation Area. This will vastly improve the pedestrian experience.

the connection

We will offer a more pleasant journey for pedestrians, one which connects them with the inside the building and draws them into the range of new amenities on offer be they restaurant, office or lifestyle.

the rooftop

Extension of the passenger lift, utilisation, partial replacement and relocation of existing plant stair will provide access to the roof terrace which offers incredible views.

before & after

We will accentuate the building’s presence in that prominent corner position and raising it’s aesthetic position to become a landmark of the area.
